The BSc Audiology program at St. Martinus University will prepare students with relevant professional knowledge, skills, techniques and ethical values to enable them to apply their acquired expertise according to the scope of their profession for efficient health service delivery.

In today's rapidly evolving medical landscape, healthcare scientists are at the forefront of the profession. Our BSc Healthcare Science (Audiology) program equips you with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the field of audiology with confidence.

A wide range of topics will be covered, including auditory rehabilitation and tinnitus as well as cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing devices, and balance assessment and rehabilitation. Additionally, you will develop the necessary clinical decision-making skills and confidence to identify, assess, treat, and rehabilitate a wide range of conditions.

When it comes to your studies, we understand that sometimes you may need assistance and support. You will receive the assistance of a personal tutor throughout your academic career with us. We also have Student Learning Assistants and Graduate Academic Assistants available to assist you if you require additional assistance.

Course Curriculum:

The field of audiology is concerned with the assessment, diagnosis, and management of hearing and balance disorders. A degree in audiology typically requires a combination of coursework and clinical experience. Here is a sample curriculum for a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program in the USA:

First Year:
  • Anatomy and Physiology of the Auditory System

  • Clinical Audiology I: Basic Audiometry
  • Speech and Language Development
  • Professional Issues in Audiology
Second Year:
  • Amplification Systems and Technologies
  • Clinical Audiology II: Advanced Audiometry

Third Year:

In addition to these core courses, students will also be required to complete a certain number of clinical hours, typically through rotations and externships at clinical sites. After completing the program, students will be eligible to take the national exam for audiology licensure.
