The interest in Emergency medicine arose right after these experiences and he started his training in the south of Holland (Heerlen). He is the first Board certified Emergency physician form native origin that came back and started as the medical coordinator of the Emergency department in 2007. After his medical degree in Groningen, Netherlands, Dr. Ponte worked in several hospitals in Holland and Curacao at surgery, emergency and cardiothoracic surgery departments.
