Ravi Kishor Reddy Vintha, MBBS, MD
Dr. Reddy graduated from Guntur Medical College, Guntur. Worked as medical officer in Trinidad and Tobago and Republic of Guyana. Obtained MD(Anatomy) from NRI Medical College, Mangalagiri. Actively involved in research work and presented scientific papers in various conferences. Scientific publication: Variations of the Sural Nerve in the Leg – A Fetal Study published in Indian Journal of Basic and Applied Medical Research.

Dissertation topic: Morphometry of larynx and its cartilages in adult Indian cadavers.

Ensuring academic success and intellectual progress

The office of the Dean of Academic Affairs exists to serve as a guidance resource for students as they progress through their medical education. The Academic Dean is responsible for updates to and maintenance of the curriculum, management of faculty and administration as they relate to students and the curriculum, and resolutions to a number of issues that students may raise. The Academic Dean ensures the success of the students by making sure all resources, including faculty and the curriculum, are challenging, competitive, and comprehensive with regard to training the future participants in the medical field.

Responsibilities
  • Curriculum
  • Support faculty and staff’s development of curriculum
  • Collaborate with administrative, academic, and student organizations and support functions that enrich the educational experience
  • Oversee policies, procedures, and practices
  • Construct academic calendars and course schedules
Counsel
  • Guide students to ensure optimal performance and progress
  • Plan academics for students on a personal and as needed basis
  • Oversee remediation and preparation necessary to excel in USMLE Step 1 and beyond
Analysis
  • Evaluate student progress and make appropriate changes to policies, procedures, and practices
  • Produce rigorous investigation into preparation for standard medical examinations to come (e.g. USMLE)
Supervision
  • Collaborate with Registrar and respective administration to ensure student completion of curriculum
  • Oversee appropriate handling of financial aid and ECFMG applications
  • Manage support staff and services as they directly and indirectly relate to students
